I listen to a lot of podcasts, mostly when I run but also when I need to drive longer than 30 minutes. One recent favorite is the Huberman Lab Podcast. It's by Andrew Huberman who is a professor of Neurobiology & Ophthalmology at Stanford School of Medicine. He's a great speaker and has a mission to get science info out to the masses. If you're interested in the mind and neuroplasticity I suggest you give him a listen. I like that he bases his views on the science and peer reviewed studies published in well-respected journals. I first heard about him on the Rich Roll podcast and he's been on some other podcasts. His podcasts are long but that's my preference when I'm listening on runs. I'm trying to work my way through from the beginning (he started earlier this year) but today I skipped ahead and listened to his most recent episode about healthy and disordered eating. Very interesting! And as someone who had anorexia which morphed into bulimia his discussion of motivations and feelings around those disorders resonated. Essentially, he says anorexics reward system is turned around. They feel a dopamine rush from not eating whereas most people get excitement and pleasure from eating. However bulimics are not getting any kind of rush for their behaviors and there's a lot of shameful feelings. I might post more about this later in my personal journal. https://hubermanlab.com/
Maintenance Phase is also a good listen.
I also listen to a lot of ultrarunning podcasts which I'm sure no one here cares about. lol :)
Anyone else listening to some interesting podcasts?
I have been listening to a few new podcasts: Afford Anything with Paula Pant, and More Than a Feeling with Saleem Reshamwala. More Than a Feeling recently covered the topic of jealousy, which was entertaining and insightful. Afford Anything covers personal finance, which usually bores me out of my skull. But she discusses things like toxic bosses, childhood experiences, and anxiety, all of which affect how we treat money management. The more I think about it, the more I realize how powerful personal values are when it comes to personal finance, health, and relationships. But we often either get mucked up bc we do things contrary to our values, or our internal scripts are wonky and therefore, we act out in ways that don’t serve us... I love this insight and personal growth stuff!
tabitha ferrar is interviewed on the “All In” podcast, such a good listen, I just love her no nonsense approach. I wish I could quote some of the things she did during it but when she talked about recovery she basically says “I did the opposite of what I wanted to do every time I was faced with a food or movement decision.” Not sure if this link will work but I’ll try https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-all-in-podcast/id1540703549?i=1000547530350
Listening to two good podcasts but not anything food & exercise related
The Dropout - somehow I didn't know anything about Elizabeth Holmes until recently. Fascinating story
The Adam Buxton show - I love the it. It's great for walks good host and very interesting guests
I’ve head a lot about the huberman podcast, I’ll have to give it a try. I love anything health and wellness related. Some good ones are found my fitness, just ingredients, be well by Kelly and body of wonder, all of those are wellness related, bio hacking etc. I also love nprs new short wave podcasts, very short few minute podcasts about random subjects, as well as hidden brain, another npr science and health type podcast. I do love podcasts!

The Huberman Lab podcast sounds fascinating. Thanks for posting the link.
The three podcasts I listen to most often are the Suze Orman Women & Money podcast, which has helped me become a smart investor and feel very secure about money and life. At Home with Byron Katie is another favorite, it's her doing "the work" with various people questioning their painful thoughts and turning them around. It always leaves me feeling inspired and free. Then, the Oprah Super Soul podcast has so many great episodes with people like Eckhart Tolle, Gary Zukav, and Martha Beck. I like listening to something uplifting when I'm stuck in traffic.
I also listen to random plant-based eating and health podcasts.
I’m a long time listener of the Freakonomics podcast. Stephen Dubner does a fantastic job of weaving out thoughtful answers from experts, and I never grow bored with the questions he poses. I also started listening to a Freakonomics spinoff, No Stupid Questions. Stephen Dubner co-hosts it with my favorite psychologist, Dr. Angela Duckworth. Their episodes are 30-45 minutes long, which is a digestible format for me.
At a friend’s recommendation, I started listening to 372 Pages We’ll Never Get Back, which covers bad books in a funny way. Michael J. Nelson is a co-host, and he was the co-host and principal writer on Mystery Science Theater 3000. If you like that kind of humor, and cackle at pop culture references, you’ll dig this podcast.
Since I’m a meathead, I also listen to the Stronger By Science podcast with Greg Nuckols and Eric Trexler. For powerlifting, it’s King of the Lifts.
My podcasts are mostly hockey and true crime related so I’m probably not the best person to ask 😂
