From skwigg's journal:
It's been really revolutionary to let hunger be my guide, whatever the goal. Hunger signals + results will clearly tell me whether I'm eating too much, just enough, or not quite enough. When you've been actively ignoring hunger and fullness for most of your life, it's like learning a foreign language. It takes time to become fluent. It's also been amazing to realize that my body knows how much food it requires to be lean, fit, and strong. I don't know. Software doesn't know. Diet books, healthy living bloggers and fitness experts don't know, but my body can tell me down to the meatball how much food it needs, and be right every time. It's not broken or trying to trick me. I'm almost embarrassed at how many years I spent trying to override and outsmart it.
