I realized (very late in the game) the problem with making rules is that they cause you to ignore and override what your own body is telling you. It will clearly state, "I'm hungry. I'm tired. I need more. That hurts." And we're all like, "Well, too bad! Rules say you're going running this morning, no snacking, no carbs, leave some on your plate, blah, blah, blah, insanity..."
Then we wonder why it's such a struggle, the results are bad, and our health suffers.
