Let's talk ZGYM workouts from https://zuzkalight.com/zgym/.
Zuzka posted this morning that it was the flu. She almost passed out in the airport, and ended up in an ambulance to the ER. 107 degree fever and 148bpm heart rate. It did not sound like any fun at all.
I was totally indecisive today. I definitely wanted to something strengthy but I could not choose a workout, after looking at them for 10 minutes, I got up and did 1 quick set each of:
Chin-ups, deadlifts, shoulder presses, squats, pull-ups, bicep curls, triceps kickbacks, and hanging knee raises.
It sounds like maybe it was a Tony Robbins thing in Florida?
I saw that same story, [@sunshine]! I am glad that it looked like she was okay. I didn't see anything about details regarding what happened, though. I didn't know about the intense event. That sounds awful, lol.
Did you guys see that Zuzka had to go to emerge yesterday? I follow her on Facebook and saw it on her Facebook story. It looks like she was in some 6 day intense event. Not sure what happened though.
I went a little bit rogue today. I did one round of the new 15 Minute Fat Burn # 18 X. I liked the jump lunge to pistol squat and the side plank thingies, but not enough to do two more rounds. So, then I switched to Beginner Cardio #18 from earlier in the week. It's ten different body weight cardio exercises, all of them really fun, no jumping. I did one round of it to create my own no-boredom cardio workout.
I know what your mean, [@skwigg]. Beyond days, I tend to have seasons that ebb and flow in regards to jumping. Right now, I seem to feel like going all out maybe once a week—at least when it comes to jumping/cardio.
Today, I did the new 15 Minute Fat Burn. I was sad to see that it was repeating rounds, rather than the format most of us love with fifteen different moves. It was still fun and flew by faster than I thought it would, though. The side plank moves were killer for me.
I did Jump Rope Cardio #16 X today. It was ALL jumping - jump rope, jump lunge, long jump, sumo jump squat, burpees, double unders, donkey kicks. It was so much fun! It's weird how sometimes I'm in the mood for all the jumping. Other days, no way.
This morning, I did Beginner Kettlebell #6. I love all of Z's KB workouts. I've done them many times, and I keep going back. I used a 16kg bell on the swings and a 12kg bell on everything else. It was great!
I didn't have a whole lot of time this morning but I wanted some intense cardio and some stretching. I did the cardio warmup and first two stretch sequences from Stretch & Tone Cardio #17. It was awesome! Took about 12 minutes. I actually got that buzzy feeling in my lungs that you get after running sprints, and then a great stretch.
Today, I did Flexible Strength #5 from the schedule. It was nice! I always enjoy the hip flexor stretch against the wall. My archer squats are still hilarious. I just cannot go down low like Z does on those.
Looking at the schedule today, I too had done Upper Body & Abs Inferno #2 not that long ago, so it didn't appeal. I was excited to see a new Heartbreaker Body #8, but then bummed there were no dumbbells. I watched the breakdown and the power band exercises seemed fussy, not what I was in the mood for today. Then I saw the beginner workout today was Beginner Strength #18. It's basic dumbbell fun stuff. I went with that one. It's a favorite for sure.
I love your post, [@skwigg]! I agree.
This morning, I did the new Heartbreaker Body. It had some new creative moves which I enjoyed. It wasn't quite up to favorite level for me, but it was still fun. It will come in handy in the future when I'm traveling as this one is just power band—no dumbbells (not sure why).
I did 5 Minute #35 - Abs today. It was core and body weight cardio.
I like how even when I'm really busy, on vacation, working weird hours, whatever, I can always do something, and I always feel better having done it. No traditional workout schedule ever fit so seamlessly with the rest of my life like that. When I was going to the gym or following workout programs, I remember feeling exhausted instead of energized, stressed about how I was going to get everything done, and guilty if I couldn't follow the plan as written. None of that is required for being fit. Who knew?!
I had already done the Upper Body & Abs Inferno #2 on the schedule relatively recently, so I went back and did #1 X from last week instead. It was great! (I've done it before, too, but not as recently.) I loved having wheel pose in the stretching. 🙂
I did the first six drills in Mobility Drills #1. I didn't have time for the whole thing, but what I did felt great. It was fun to use my stretch band and Pilates ball. Cooper tried to kill both of them.
I always liked core work, too, [@Mottainai]!
Today, I did the new Lifted Butt. It was nice! I had to switch a few things because my Beast is 10 pounds heavier than Z's, so certain moves just weren't happening for me. I used my 16kg instead on the lifts involving the ball. I also just did regular squats in the deadlift combo with my Beast so that I didn't have to pull it up and could keep proper form.
I did Beginner Kettlebell #5. It was a great beginner, or begin-again, workout. I used 12 kg for presses and did one set of 10 and the next I crapped out at 8 reps. When I stopped regularly doing KBs those couple years back I was just getting the hang of two or three presses with 14 kg, so that’s my first goal.
I really enjoyed the core sets at the end, Russian twists and knee tucks. I videoed myself, and my ab bulge/separation doesn’t look half as bad as I thought it might! I’m so weak now, now that my abs have been stretched to infinity and back a few times, but I’m excited to build up those core muscles again. Ab work always was my favorite.
I did the new Lifted Butt Series #22. It was really fun except for the kettlebell deadlift / squat combo. I hate doing heavy goblet squats where you pull the bell to chest level over and over again versus just leaving it there, so not a favorite, but still pretty awesome.
I just finished Bodyweight Beginner #20. The only change I made was doing regular burpees. My favorite move was the lunge step ups. 🙂
On Thursday, I did Beginner Kettlebell #5. I love that series and have done them all at least a few times. I used my 16kg bell on the first move and my 12kg on everything else.
Yesterday, I wanted something stretchy, but I'd already done the Stretch and Tone in the schedule recently, so I went back and did Stretch and Tone #1. It has lots of great plank work.
