My husband developed his own hilariously effective "meditation." Every morning at that most stressful moment of the day when he's running late, worried about work problems, headed into traffic, he stops everything, lies down on his back on the living room floor, and lets the dog lick his face, bring him squeaky toys and make him laugh. He relaxes there with his eyes closed for a minute or two and then goes out the door in a remarkably different mood. He says it reminds him of what's really important. It can change how the whole day goes. I've tried it a couple of times and it's brilliant.
