I have created all kinds of posts here on my current thinking about food, weight, and fitness. Check them out when you have time to read. A book I found incredibly helpful when first letting go of dieting was “The Intuitive Eating Workbook“ by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch. Also, “Health at Every Size“ by Linda Bacon. Currently, I’m loving “The F*ck It Diet” by Caroline Dooner. It’s hilarious and wise. For fitness, I do whatever sounds fun that day. I love the ZGYM because there is endless variety and I have no attention span. Also, most workouts are 15 minutes or less, which leaves me plenty of energy for life. My traditional gym workouts would render me useless and starving for the rest of the day.
Look around and feel free to post or reply in my journal with any questions.
@michellemcano16 I unpublished skwigg.com quite a few years ago. Body for Life really messed me up in the long run. Eating "clean," absurd quantities of protein, the whole free/cheat day concept. In hindsight, it was a fiasco that only made me hungry, tired, totally obsessed with food, and primed for weight gain. I think it eventually does that for everyone, which is why we were always starting new "challenges" with new before photos. It's yo-yo dieting on an epic scale. I'm leaner and happier exercising for fun and not dieting at all, which is hilarious and sad after all the schemes and programs I paid for and followed. But if you need any info on intuitive eating, kettlebells, chocolate chip cookies, that kind of thing, I'm here for you. 🙂 The thread here called Skwigg's Journal is where I post my thoughts now. My favorite workouts these days are Zuzka Light's ZGYM. I've been a member for five years. I ignore her nutrition advice. I love the variety and learning new circus skills. In bodybuilding days, I couldn't have done a backbend or rolled off a stability ball into a handstand to save my life. How fun to be getting stronger, more flexible, and fit as I get older (52now!?), plus I can eat whatever I want. I feel like I'm living the dream! If I can help you with any of that, let me know. If you're still into diets and programs, I totally get it. I was too, until I wasn't.
Hey Skwigg. Looking for your old website with all the nutrition information. It was good stuff. I am embarking on BFL again and I wanted to go back to the basics. Do you have any information that you can give me from your website? Skwigg.com? Thank you!!!
