Linear momentum isn't a thing, with eating or anything else. It's always up, down, sideways, around in circles, two steps back, and then moving forward. The trick to accomplishing anything is being kind to yourself, keeping your sense of humor, and staying focused, even if you have an off day or doubt everything. Maybe especially then! It's perfectly normal to not be a fitness, intuitive eating, or recovery role model every day. It's messy, all of it. One of the most important things we learn is how to become comfortable with a little chaos and not keep settling for "perfect or nothing."

Yes! “Perfect or nothing” tends to leave us with a whole lot of nothing. Nothing is ever good enough. Nothing ever works for us. Nothing will solve this. Nothing, nothing, nothing. It’s far better to celebrate whatever messy progress comes along, to keep stacking up little wins. That’s how lasting change is created.
“Perfect or nothing” was how I lived most of my life and it was pretty miserable. Now I go for “just ok” or “good enough”.
